DESCRIPTION
Britone Epoxy Zinc Phosphate Primer is a two-component
polyamide-cured epoxy primer containing zinc phosphate
pigment to protect steel from corrosion. Two Pack High
Build Epoxy Zinc Phosphate Metal Primer is suitable for use
on metal fabrications where a good hard highly anticorrosive
and chemically resistant primer is required
specially on coastal areas near to ocean.
USE
Used for the exposed steel structures of petrochemical
factory, power plant, coastal facility, storage tank. Some
applications may include metal paint, chassis paint, gates
and railings paint, agricultural paint, crane and lifting gear
paint, skip and container paint, vehicles, scaffold marking
paint or stillage / pallet paints.
CHARACTERISTICS
• Excellent resistance to sea water.
• Excellent rust preventive properties.
• Tough and hard film with very good adhesion.
• Excellent resistance to mechanical damage.
• Very good resistance to oils and chemicals
• Good adhesion to multiple substrates such as steel, cast
iron, galvanized steel, aluminum, GRP and Stainless Steel
and aged epoxies
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
GENERAL SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces must be dry, clean and free from contaminants.
Ensure removal of dirt, dust, oil and all other contaminants
that could interfere with adhesion of the coating. oil and
grease should be removed with aromatic solvents.
MIXING
Britone Epoxy Zinc Phosphate Primer is supplied in two
packs. Stir the base and hardener separately. Mix hardener
gradually into the base under continuous stirring as per the
mixing ratio. Once the unit has been mixed, it should be
consumed within the working pot life. in case of part mixing
(which should be avoided), close the lids of containers
tightly to avoid contact with atmospheric moisture. Thinner
should be added after mixing the components and post the
induction time. Addition of too much thinner will lead to
reduced sag resistance.
Mixing Ratio by volume 4 : 1 (4 Base : 1 Hardener)
Induction Time 30 minutes
Pot Life at 30°C 3 hours
